POSITION DESCRIPTION:

 

Bridge Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of post-registration experience in the design of bridge structures.   

 

Provide solutions at the planning and design stage for conventional and innovative bridges to support our transportation design services for FDOT and municipalities. 

Ability to work independently within a teamwork oriented environment in the development of structural calculations and contract plans, participate in the development of solutions during proposal stage for conventional and Design-Build projects, perform post-design services and Quality Control.  Experience with FDOT plans preparation, design guidelines, and AASHTO Specifications is required. 

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program and a Professional Engineer license from Florida.  Structural design experience in common bridge types including reinforced concrete slab superstructures, curved and/or skewed steel plate and steel box girders, prestressed bridges, hammerhead and frame piers including post-tensioned substructures, miscellaneous structures, and foundations using prestressed piles, spread footings, or drilled shafts.  Experience with structural analysis and design software such as SAP2000 or STAAD, FB-MultiPier, MDX, Leap Bridge, MathCad, and MicroStation is required.  Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) a plus.
