Stormwater
MIC Stormwater Pump Station
SCOPE OF WORK
The Miami Intermodal Center (MIC) is part of the Miami-Dade Transportation Improvement Program (1995) to improve the access to the Miami International Airport (MIA), thereby alleviating traffic congestion on MIA access roadways
As part of the larger effort, A&P Engineers provided drainage improvements for this project. Flooding in the area has been well documented and with this in mind, our design took form. Our proposed drainage improvements consisted of installing a new Stormwater Pump Station (10,000 GPM). The proposed Pump Station discharges into an existing 60” outfall pipe at the intersection of N.W. 39th Avenue and N.W. 25th Street. Aside from this, our design included installing 36’ of 48” storm drain pipes and installing an electrical generator adjacent to the proposed pump station.
