SCOPE OF WORK
The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) is proactively implementing the upgrade to critical water and sewer infrastructure along major urban corridors to ensure that utility infrastructure is in place for current and future requirements. The project consists of the construction of approximately 6.7 miles of 48” diameter water transmission main to be constructed of prestressed concrete cylinder pipe (PCCP). Along the route, approximately 2,800 LF of micro-tunneling will be required for the 48” diameter carrier pipe at crossings with several stakeholders including South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD), CSX Railroad, the Homestead Extension of the Florida Turnpike (HEFT) and major FDOT intersections such as SR-94 / SW 88th Street / Kendall Drive and SR-986 / SW 72nd Street / Sunset Drive. The Team proposed an alternate route to M-D WASD which reduces the overall construction duration, which will further minimize community impact and lower the cost for M-D WASD.
The project includes coordination of survey, geotechnical services, utility coordination and coordinating with other agencies with ongoing projects within the project limits, review of as-builts, identification of utility conflicts, development of complete engineering plans, resurfacing, SP&M, MOT, construction specifications, shop drawing reviews, respond to RFI’s, plans reviews and revisions, QA/QC, As-Built Certification, and Project Close Out.
