Under this design-build contract, improvements to the fiber optic communication network, closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, dynamic message signs (DMS), road weather information systems (RWIS) vehicle detection, and speed detection. All of these proposed improvements were also to be integrated into the existing SunGuide® Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) in Broward and Collier County.

 

As part of our CEI responsibilities, A&P Engineers was responsible for the installation of DMS, CCTV cameras, microwave vehicle detection sensors (MVDS), power services, and the fiber optic communication network. Due to the complexity of this project, we frequently coordinated with Florida Department of Transportation District I and IV to ensure on-time delivery and superb performance.
